BMW 5 Series fans will be pleased to know that Hella, leading supplier of automotive lighting and electronic equipment, is embedding its innovations right under the 2007 BMW 5 model. Hella crafts and manufactures components and systems for lighting and electronics for the automotive industry. Among its development services involves driver assistance systems, air-conditioning systems and vehicle-electric systems.

Hella has created the BMW 5 Series’ front headlights and combination rear taillights in a hooked labor with BMW’s engineering team. Hella also provided the vehicle’s headlight power-washing system, reading lamps and interior cabin lighting.

The 5 Series were also wedded with Hella’s Bi-Xenon headlamps that execute low-beam and high-beam lighting from the same module. A daytime running light that’s in a standstill is situated next to the main lamp. When the 5 Series engine starts, all four light-guide rings switch on for visibility during on-peak road driving automatically. When the driver switches on night-time lights, the light-guide rings are muted although their intensity level is probably sustained by the low- and high-beam buttons.

Hella also equipped the vehicle with two-round headlamps which features a clear-glass look. The base model of the 5 Series is fitted with H7 halogen bulbs as well as four-light-guide rings. Owners of the 5 Series can opt for an adaptive bend-lighting system and static cornering light. The system is controlled in real time by the steering-wheel angle, acceleration and rate. As Hella Lighting North America’s President Raymund Heinen stated that the adaptive bend-lighting system manages with both low- and high-beam functions and constantly acclimatizes to the driving speed.

“This feature nearly doubles the low-beams’ range when a vehicle rounds a corner.” Heinen added. True enough, the 5 Series model seems pretty modified to the satisfaction of most of its buyers when it comes to interior and exterior lighting.
