My Mom, The Driver

So after my almost hitting an old lady, I am a bit more careful when I take my ol’ beamer anywhere. I never told anyone about the escapade, maybe because I don’t want to recall the frightening moment again and again. Of course, I didn’t tell MOTHER about it, unless I want to hear her rant on and on about my driving skills. Really, like she’s an icon in driving. Yes, she never gets into accidents, or at least none that I’ve heard of or that she’s told anyone. But that’s because she drives like a granny. Honestly. While she never hits anything, her car is always close to being hit by the drivers at her back ‘coz of that snail pace.

See, my mom enjoys driving. I don’t mean to say most drivers do not, but to her, it’s actually a relaxation thing. A stress-reliever. She drives to clear her mind, to leave all the work problems behind, and just simply to settle. You’ll never see her in a hurry, unless she’s really running late, which is seldom the case.

And it’s all good, if it works for her. I only hope (as I oh-so-subtly hint to her always) that she increases the speed and steps on the accelerator a bit more often, so the unlucky drivers who happen to be at her back don’t fume as much.

On The Lighter Side of Things

Since I love my car to pieces, here’s a joke about BMWs dedicated to my one and only beamer.

A lawyer opened the door of his BMW, when suddenly a car came along and hit the door, ripping it off completely. When the police arrived at the scene, the lawyer was complaining bitterly about the damage to his precious BMW.

“Officer, look what they’ve done to my Beeeemer!!!”, he whined.

“You lawyers are so materialistic, you make me sick!!!” retorted the officer, “You’re so worried about your stupid BMW, that you didn’t even notice that your left arm was ripped off!!!”

“Oh my gaaad….”, replied the lawyer, finally noticing the bloody left shoulder where his arm once was, “Where’s my Rolex???!!!!!”
